N20 Garden Transformation Case Study, Full Garden Makeover After Building Works

This N20 garden transformation began after the customer’s building work was completed, leaving the outdoor space uneven, cluttered, and unfinished. They contacted Reformed Gardens in December 2025 to arrange a site visit, and after carrying out a full survey, it was clear the garden needed a complete redesign rather than minor repairs. The goal was to rebuild the space from the ground up, improve privacy, create clean levels, and deliver a garden that felt practical, polished, and ready for everyday use.

Once the plans and quotation were approved, work began on 6 January 2026. The first stage of this N20 garden transformation focused on the heavy groundwork. We carried out a full dig out and graded the area down using a digger, then removed all debris with a track barrow. In total, we cleared two full grab lorries and one skip of waste from the site, giving us a clean and stable base to rebuild the garden properly. With the groundwork complete, we installed new close board fence panels with concrete posts and concrete gravel boards, creating a stronger boundary and a much neater overall finish.

We then moved on to the hard landscaping, carefully preparing the patio area with accurate levels, a non woven weed control membrane, and a 200mm compacted sub base. The paving slabs were laid on a 4 to 1 concrete mix, with each slab primed for maximum contact and long term durability. To complete the soft landscaping, we applied 200mm of top soil beneath premium turf rolls and the new flower beds. A treated timber pergola was built on top of the patio to define the outdoor seating space, while a separate corner was finished with Cotswold chippings to create a small fireplace style seating area. We also installed pull and push bars for future training. The result is a complete N20 garden transformation with fresh turf, strong boundaries, premium paving, and bespoke features that make the space far more functional. After three weeks of work, the garden looked completely different, and the customer was very pleased with the final result.
